The Philippine Consulate General in Nagoya in collaboration with the Filipino Migrant Center and Aichi Police conducted a Forum on the Elimination of Violence Against Women on 20 November 2023 at the Consulate. The forum was in support of the 2023 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) from 25 November to 12 December 2023. It was also Post’s final Gender and Development activity for 2023.
Ms. Mercedes A. Ishihara, a multicultural social worker of the Aichi Prefecture and Director of the Filipino Migrant Center and Sergeant Michinori Shibata, International Police Affairs, Aichi Police presented on women and children in the family, domestic violence, human trafficking, crimes against women, victim support, safety tips and the importance of cooperation between the Philippine Consulate General, community and Aichi Police
