Consul General Ecraela Calls on Takayama Mayor and Joins Matsuri
Consul General Roy B. Ecraela and Takayama Mayor Akila Tanaka discussed areas of cooperation in tourism and labor as well as the exploration of a sister-city relationship during the former’s courtesy visit last 09 October 2023.
Mayor Takayama likewise expressed the city’s growing need for workers in the fields of medicine and hotel management, with the latter being attributed to the lifting of restrictive regulations in connection with Covid-19.
The Consul General and his team also joined the celebration of the Takayama Matsuri, which is considered as one of Japan’s three most beautiful festivals held every year during spring and autumn. However, the parade of floats and other related activities were suspended due to inclement weather.
