Ph Consul General Ecraela pays courtesy visits to Shizuoka

Consul General Roy B. Ecraela expressed his appreciation to Shizuoka Prefecture Governor Heita Kawakatsu and Shizuoka City Mayor Takashi Namba for providing the necessary welfare and programs to the Filipinos in their jurisdiction during his courtesy visits on 31 August 2023.

During the visit, Governor Kawakatsu showcased the various agricultural resources offered by the prefecture such as wasabi, green tea, seafood and more, as well as the number of industrial companies such Kawasaki, Yamaha Motors, and Tamiya. Both parties also discussed coordination on disaster preparedness, tourism, and labor.

In a separate meeting with Shizuoka City Mayor Namba, Consul General Ecraela opened the possibility of establishing a sister-city relationship for Shizuoka City. Mayor Namba raised concern on the city’s aging population and need to addressing the labor gap.
