Consul General Roy B. Ecraela graced the Friendly Filipino Festival 2023 held at Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture last 12 August 2023.

In his opening remarks, Consul General Ecraela praised the Filipino Community for uniting in celebrating the event. He likewise invited the Filipino community in attendance to join future Filipino festivals and celebrations including the "Pasko sa Nagoya 2023" which will be celebrated in Mid December this year and the Philippine Independence Day in 2024.

The Festival was sponsored by various Filipino and Japanese private entities and non-profit organizations from Shizuoka. A variety of Philippine folk and modern dances were showcased during the event and Filipino food were also sold from different stalls/booths.
