During the Consulate's courtesy call on 28 June 2023, Consul General Roy B. Ecraela and Tsushima City Mayor Kazuaki Hibi discussed the importance of Filipino students learning their native language while acclimating to the culture and environment of Japan. Consul General Ecraela opened the possibility of conducting virtual classes as an alternate mode of language learning. He also placed value on language learning and enculturation as a step towards deterring bullying.

Mayor Hibi extended his invitation to the Consulate to the Owari Tsushima Tennoh Festival which will be held on 22 and 23 July 2023. Tsushima City is also known for celebrating the Tsushima Autumn Festival, Wisteria Festival, and Ishidori Saisha float parade. END.
