08 July 2022 - Brother Industries updated the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Nagoya on its ¥80 billion (US$590 million) investment in the Philippines during their meeting with Consulate officials at the Brother Museum on 06 July 2022.
General Manager Takeshi Yamada of the Corporate Planning Division highlighted this investment as the company’s biggest overseas project in 2022-2024. Brother Industries Factory 3 in Tanauan City, Batangas is expected to be completed in January 2024, he said.
Furthermore, GM Yamada expressed the importance of Philippine economic regulations and policies, such as the rate of tax incentives granted to foreign investors and incentives for the usage of clean and renewable energy, to Brother Industries.
Consul General Balatbat thanked Brother Industries for its major investment in the Philippines, and offered the Consulate’s assistance for management personnel intending to travel to the Philippines to oversee operations and perform critical functions.
Brother Industries started its operations in the Philippines in February 2013 and currently employs 9,804 personnel. It has received various awards from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) in 2020 for Outstanding Employer, Outstanding Environmental Performance, and COVID-19 Response.
