The event, organized by the Ama City International Association, Rotary Club of Loyola Heights and Samahan ng Baranggay Kariya (SBK), celebrated the presence and contributions of the Filipino community in Ama City.

In his welcome remarks, the Mayor of Ama City, Mr. Kojie Murakami, expressed his appreciation to the Filipino community for its contribution not only to its fellow citizens but also to other foreign nationals residing in the city. Mayor Murakami also thanked the members of the Consulate for attending the event.

Vice Consul Arceo conveyed his gratitude to the Filipino Community in Ama City. He said “the Filipino hospitality is unlike any other, and fiestas express the flavor and taste of Philippine culture and tradition, which makes fiestas distinct yet enigmatic, exotic yet ubiquitous, and nostalgic yet present. The spirit of Filipino festivities lives in the event and through the Filipino community.”

The Philippine Festival program included the Malong dance, Tinikling, and a fashion show displaying various Filipiniana outfits designed by Rene Salud.

The event organizers also offered various Filipino cuisines such as halo-halo, chicken inasal, sapin-sapin, latik and Pinoy-style barbecue.
