23 December 2020, Nagoya- Philippine Consul-General Celeste Vinzon-Balatbat expressed appreciation to Mayor Takashi KAWAMURA of Nagoya City for hosting the Consulate General of the Philippines in Nagoya, the third Foreign Service Post of the Philippines in Japan.

The City of Nagoya in the Aichi prefecture is home to the largest concentration of Filipinos in Japan.

Immediately after the courtesy call on Mayor Kawamura, Consul-General Balatbat and representatives from the Philippine Consulate-General in Nagoya met with Mr. Atsushi Takakura, Director of the Novel Coronavirus Disease Control Office.

The introductory meeting was an opportunity to explore ways for the City Government and the Consulate-General to work together in disseminating information on COVID countermeasures to the Filipino community in Nagoya and sharing of data on Filipinos affected by COVID-19.
