05 April 2022 – In celebration of the 2022 National Women’s Month this March, the Philippine Consulate General in Nagoya conducted various Gender and Development (GAD) activities and wore purple every Tuesday (#PurpleTuesdays) in support of the empowerment of women.
To raise awareness of the National Women’s Month, the Consulate displayed banners in its frontline sections and on Nagoya PCG’s official website and Facebook page.
The Consulate also created a special banner and used it for its virtual flag raising and lowering ceremonies, and other online activities.
Medical masks were distributed to the Consulate’s clients every Tuesday for the month of March.
Consul General Celeste Vinzon-Balatbat gave the Welcome Remarks at a Special Women’s Month Webinar for Stress Management entitled “Pinay, Stressed ka na ba?” organized by the Labor Section of the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo on Sunday, 13 March 2022.
Consulate personnel likewise attended GAD seminars, such as the Awareness of Gender and Development Issues in the Workplace Confirmation on 10 March 2022, the Special Women’s Month Webinar for Stress Management entitled “Pinay, Stressed ka na ba?”, the Women’s Empowerment in the World of Work in Fragile Setting, on 22 March 2022, the Support and Care for Teenage Pregnancy: Stories of Pregnant and Teenage Mother on 24 March 2022, and the Developing Migration for Women: Moving Towards Gender-Responsive Migration Governance Under a Philippine Department of Migrant Workers.
To culminate the celebration of National Women’s Month, Mr. Jericho Roda, a young saxophonist and student from a Senior High School Affiliated with Aichi University, performed musical numbers at the Consulate’s Passport area on 31 March 2022 as a tribute to women and to gender equality.
