Filipinos in Central Japan start Online Overseas Voting
The Consulate General of the Philippines in Nagoya successfully launched the online voting system at 8:00 AM (JST) on 12 April 2025 as the Overseas Voting for the National Elections 2025 commenced globally.
The Consulate visited various cities in Aichi (Nagoya, Tokai, Kariya and Toyohashi) and Gifu (Ogaki) to inform and remind Filipinos on the pre-voting and voting procedure and to ensure the participation of registered voters. Nagoya PCG intends to make more visits in various cities in other Prefectures in the Chubu Region until the end of the pre-voting enrollment period in 07 May 2025.
As such, Post wishes to remind the public of the following:
- Registered voters may vote until 8:00 PM (JST) of 12 May 2025 through an online voting portal provided by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
- Unlike in the previous national elections, voters will no longer be provided with physical ballots but will instead vote using their mobile devices, laptops, or computers.
- In order to vote, a registered voter first needs to undergo the online pre-voting enrollment which may be done until 07 May 2025.
