ROTARY INTERNATIONAL NAGOYA HOSTS WORLD FOOD + FAIR FESTA
 
The Philippine Consulate General in Nagoya participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Rotary Club World Food + Fair Festa held on 15 April 2023 in Nagoya.
 
Deputy Consul General Jerome Castro delivered brief remarks in Nihongo and congratulated the organizers, Rotary International District 2760 from Nagoya Osu led by Governor Yoshihisa Kagohashi, and the 4,800 rotarians present.
 
DCG Castro also greeted the 20-strong delegation from the Rotary International District 3780 from Quezon City led by Governor Florian Belmonte Enriquez and a handful of members of their satellite club in Nagoya, and took the opportunity to thank Rotary Club Japan for the donation to the Philippines of 144,000 face shields during the most difficult period of the COVID pandemic in 2020.
 
Cultural presentations ensued and cuisine from around the world was served as part of the fund raising activities for the Rotary projects which seek to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water and sanitation, protect women and children, support education, grow local economies and safeguard the environment.
 
The event also counted on the participation of the Consuls General in Nagoya of Brazil, Peru and Turkiye.  END
