PIQC | Session 12: Documentation of Early Filipinos | Panel B: Focus on Luzon

The Philippine International Quincentennial Conference resumes today with Panel B | Focus on Luzon of Session 12 | Documentation of Early Filipinos.

This Session revisits our Pre-Colonial Ancestors through the use of multi and interdisciplinary methodologies in unearthing and reliving the lives and conditions of Ancient Filipinos.

For Panel B | Focus on Luzon, we have multi-awarded playwright and independent scholar Floy Quintos who will discuss his findings of the Anito in Pre-colonial Sculptures, Prof. Joel Mallari of Holy Angel University with his recounting of the Kapampangan pre-colonial experience through language, Prof. Jeffrey James Ligero of the University of the Philippines Los Baños with his discussion of the Lantak or the early pre-colonial forms of firemaking, and Dr. Ma. Mercedes Planta of the University of the Philippines Diliman on Pre-Colonial Medicine and Associated Folk Practices. Mr. Christian Joseph Bonpua of the Jesuit House Museum of Cebu will moderate the panel.

Session 12 is convened by the ADHIKA ng Pilipinas, Inc. and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
