The Philippine International Quincentennial Conference resumes today with Panel F | Early Southeast Asian Maritime & Boat-Building Tradition Part 2 of Session 11 | Early Philippine and Southeast Asian Boat-Building and Gold Crafting Technology.

This Session explores the technological advancements that were present in the Philippines and in the larger Southeast Asian cultural space during the First Circumnavigation of the world and how these developments arose from the scientific and cultural exchanges between the various peoples in the region and from the local conditions of the pre-colonial communities.

For Panel F, Dr. Pierre-Yves Manguin of the Ecole Francaise d'Extreme-Orient takes us through a retrospection of the Philippines in Southeast Asia through golden lenses Ms. Rochelle A. Valencia of the Father Saturnino Urios University will be moderating this panel.

Session 11 is convened by the Father Saturnino Urios University in Butuan City.
